The story of El Fuerte Hotel Marbella goes back to 1554 when its construction was ordered by Carlos V in order to repel marauding pirates. Subsequently, the building became particularly important during the Napoleonic invasion. Finally, in one of the skirmishes it was used as a powder store. This is why today there are just a few remains of this historical building.
